About Us

1989

Founded by ex-farmer and part-time boat builder John Rowbottom, our first steps into the world of commercial woodworking started with the manufacture of garden furniture. The business was initially named W Rowbottom and Son, after John’s father and inspiration William.

1992

With a growing reputation for quality and the ability to take on new challenges we began manufacturing thatched bird tables and nest boxes to run alongside the furniture.

1995

We became one of the largest manufacturers of wildlife products in the country, producing over 25,000 bird tables per year and dealing with most of the major brands in the bird care market.

1997

Display stands had always been a part of our portfolio alongside our wildlife retail products. This was seen as a much more interesting and rewarding part of the business. We enjoy the challenges presented by design and manufacture in this ever changing and creative sector and made the decision to fully focus on display stands as the future for our business.

2001

The company is rebranded as Admiral Display, retaining the same personnel and operating to the same high standards. We now fully focus on the design and manufacture of bespoke wooden display solutions and bespoke POS stands for retail use.

2003

A large investment is made in a purpose-built workshop. The latest CNC cutting machinery is installed and immediately gives us the opportunity to take on projects previously unavailable to us. The new equipment showed a revolution in the custom build retail display stands we could provide for clients up and down the country.

2006

Our first specialist spray shop is installed, enabling us to produce high quality paint finishes in-house. We adopt SolidWorks as the 3D CAD design software of choice for our bespoke pieces. We could then offer customers a broader range of products.

2010

As we have continued to grow we realise that as a large user of timber based products, it is our responsibility to source these products ethically and sustainably. To show our commitment to these ideals we become an FSC certified producer by the Forestry Stewardship Council, known as the FSC. This is a worldwide organisation giving a high degree of credibility to our environmental standards.

2014

Further investment in our factory infrastructure creates more new buildings, overall giving us 20,000 square feet of floor space to work with. This helps us expand further, growing the company and allowing us to offer more to our clients of wooden newspaper dispensers, wooden wall units and wooden display units.

2017

As an established display stand manufacturer, we now have the full portfolio of equipment, infrastructure and skills to take on the most challenging display projects. Whether you’re looking for a one-off bespoke piece or a range of sustainable POS solutions for retail stores across the country, Admiral Display has 30 years of experience providing solutions for some of the UK’s leading brands.
